Six agricultural shows in the Midlands are set to benefit from a €600,000 funding initiative by the Department of Rural and Community Development.
Athlone, Clonaslee, Moate, Mullingar, Tullamore and the Midlands Connemara pony show will all receive €5000 each.
In total - 120 shows across the country run by the Irish Shows Association are included in the announcement.
