Two seperate weather warnings are in effect in the midlands.
The northern half of the country is under a status yellow rain warning - it covers Westmeath Cavan, Monaghan, Connacht, Longford, Louth and Meath until 7pm.
Meanwhile, a Status Yellow Thunderstorm warning has been issued for Carlow, Kilkenny, Kildare and Laois.
It's valid immediately - Met Eireann says heavy showers with lightning are expected.
A third alert concerns just Donegal, with heavy rain expected until midnight.
