He spoke about the controversy surrounding selected Councillor Claire Murray to run in the general election.

It's important to have new and fresh voices in politics, according to the Tánaiste.

He has been speaking on Fianna Fáil's decision to run newly elected councillor Claire Murray in Offaly in the upcoming general election.

Controversy followed her selection as she didn't put herself forward at the convention and the call was shortly followed by Eddie Fitzpatrick resigning from the party and announcing his campaign as an Independent candidate.
