The Independent candidate in Laois believes political parties have an unfair advantage in elections.

A general election candidate in Laois is highlighting the challenges faced by Independents.

Elaine Mullally is one of the founders of Independent Ireland, but left the party in the summer, citing a drift away from its original aims.

Ms Mullally is running on a platform of bringing common sense back into politics and delivering on the needs of the community.
