The first national study investigating gambling and suicide was released this week.
It's high time we acknowledged the scale of the problem we're facing when it comes to gambling.
That's the message from Portlaoise Problem Gambling Support after the release of the first national study to investigate suicide and gambling this week.
The study found that gambling was documented in 23 or 0.6% of all deaths by probable suicide recorded over this six-year period.
It also found an over-representation of men at 91%.
