The number of people waiting for funding for homecare support in the midlands is down nearly 40% in total.
In Laois and Offaly -- the number has almost halved between March and July while in the Longford/Westmeath region -- the figure has fallen by just under 20%.
This goes against the national trend - with over 7,300 people waiting on funding in July. Up nearly a fifth over a three month period.
