A Midlands MEP says he can't accept that the financial situation of Bord na Mona has changed so much as to warrant a sale.
Their recycling branch will be sold to KWD Recycling in Kerry after months of speculation, which is now subject to regulatory approval.
Workers in the company are strongly opposed against the sale and have met with SIPTU to consider action up to and including a potential strike.
Bord na Mona has insisted all employees will remain with the company, with no changes to terms and conditions to be made.
