Two midlands local authorities don't have a Fraud or Corruption Alert policy in place.
That's one of the findings from NOAC's Internal Audit, which highlighted Laois and Offaly County Councils among the seven which didn't have a plan.
It says such a policy is 'very important,' and has recommended the seven local authorities put a plan in place as soon as possible.
The report states the purpose is to facilitate the prevention and detection of fraud.
Westmeath County Council triggered its policy last month, when it was subject to a payment fraud totaling over €500,000.
