The groups are being recognised for making their communities better places to live
Over 180 young people are been praised for work they've done in their communities, as part of the Garda National Youth Awards.
Among those recognised is a Laois group called Girl Talk, who set up a group to support young girls from diverse backgrounds and minorities, such as young travellers, first generation Irish and members of the LGBTI+ community, to help build their confidence and self-esteem.
While, Westmeath's Kevin Kennedy and David Hogg, who took part in the 2018 Down Syndrome European Games, were also recognised by the judges for their resilience.
They both had low muscle tone and meeting milestones such as walking and cycling, proved difficult for them in their early years.
