Two Midlands volunteers have won national awards.
Laois' Damien Dollard and Offaly's David O'Malley were both honoured at the national volunteer Ireland awards in Dublin on Sunday.
Damien received the Volunteer manager award, he began volunteering with the civil defence in 2012 and then became the civil defence officer.
David Received the Safety & Emergency Services award, he has secured funding and overseen the installation of 28 publicly available Automated External Defibrillators within the town.
They were celebrated alongside Ireland’s exceptional volunteers.
