Two More Laois Fine Gael Members Running For Spot In General Election

Three people are competing for the nomination, two of which are sitting councillors.

Two Fine Gael members have thrown their hat in the ring for the upcoming General Election.

Paddy Buggy and sitting Councillor, Willie Aird, will contest for the party's nomination to run in the Laois constituency.

They'll face competition from Councillor Conor Bergin, who announced his intention to run last month.

Mr. Buggy contested the Local Elections for Fine Gael in the Borris-in-Ossory/ Mountmellick area, but fell short of securing a seat.

He says he wants to see more agricultural representation in the Dáil:
