An unaccompanied learner driver has been arrested after testing positive for the use of three different drugs in Laois.
The motorist was stopped by Mountrath Gardaí for travelling in what officers describe as a 'suspicious vehicle.'
The driver had no tax, NCT, or insurance and was travelling without a driving license.
A drug test also revealed the use of cannabis, amphetamines, and benzodiazepines in their system.
Their vehicle was seized, and the motorist received €660 in fines for a number of offences, including driving unaccompanied as a learner and not displaying the necessary discs.
The arrest came as part of Operation Coinním patrols, which target anti-social behaviour.
