Unemployment in Midlands Remains Static

Unemployment in the Midlands remains mostly static with over nine thousand people on the live register last month.

The latest Live Register figures from the CSO saw the biggest drop in Laois- the figure was down by 42 people to 3,077 last month, a decrease of 1.36 per cent.

While Westmeath saw three people sign up to the register last month, bringing its total figure up to 3,565.

In Offaly, 3,061 people are on the register this month, only a change of 0.09 per cent.

165,400 people are on the register nationally, a decrease of 0.4 per cent in December 2024.
