Hazel Smyth is opting to follow a tradition in her previous campaigns.

Election posters are 'unhelpful, unsightly and wasteful.'

Green Party Councillor in Mullingar Kinnegad, Hazel Smyth, has opted once again to not erect posters in the run-up to this year's Local Elections.

She's encouraging people to vote for candidates on the basis of their work, not the 'lovely' photos of their faces on poles.

Councillor Smyth says if her stance puts her at a disadvantage, she'll deal with it:
