That's according to Electric Picnic organiser Melvin Benn.
The organiser of Electric Picnic believes vaccine passports will be an inevitable part of concert-going.
It's not yet know if the festival will return to Stradbally this September.
Speaking at Fuel the Future: The Reboot, MD of Festival Republic, Melvin Benn says anyone attending a festival or gig will need to provide some sort of proof of vaccination in the short-term:
“I think in the short term it feels inevitable, I think as Covid-19 becomes more an endemic issue rather than a pandemic issue, it may be we are able to adapt to that but I think there will be a degree of nervousness from people to gather in a crowd, may be nervous if they feel 20% of them that are not vaccinated or Covid-clear for example, and you don’t want that nervousness in the crowd, so I think the health passport for really crowded areas is pretty likely but I don’t necessarily feel it’s something that has to be in place in five-years’ time. I think it could be something that comes and goes because we become more at ease with the endemic nature of Covid-19.”
