Vegetable Oil To Be Used To Power Vehicles In The Midlands

A midlands business is planning to fuel its vehicle fleet with vegetable oil.

Grant's Engineering in Birr is making the move to H-V-O, and believes there's a big upside in making the switch for vehicles and homes.

Hydrogen-treated vegetable oil is a replacement for fossil fuels, made from recycled cooking oils and has a higher calorific value.

The company owns five trucks, as well as a few vans and cars, and the entire fleet will be powered by the biodegradable substance in a few weeks.
