A local councillor says this has been a recurring issue ever since the estate was built.
The residents of an Offaly housing estate have been waiting six days for a sewage leak to be cleaned up.
Portavolla in Banagher has been hit by another leakage following heavy rain last week.
Sewage on the road and footpaths in Portavolla, Banagher yet AGAIN. I was informed by @offalycoco that a tanker would be sent out last Thursday to clean this up and the residents are still waiting. It is a public health issue and needs to be addressed ASAP.

But local councillor Clare Claffey says this has been a recurring issue ever since the estate was built on a flood plain over 20 years ago.
The Social Democrat says it cannot be let continue, as she's been explaining to Midlands 103's Ellen Butler:
Statement from Offaly County Council:
Due to the high level of rainfall last week, the combined surface and foul sewer overflowed at Portavolla.
Following Cllr Claffeys representations, a tanker was sent to Portavolla on Thursday last and removed the debris which had overflowed at Portavolla.
A follow up visit occurred today, and it was agreed to further clean the area.
Local authority staff continue to engage with Irish Water in order to find a long term solution for this problem.
Recent work at the Harbour Roadd in Banagher has assisted greatly in localised flooding, and it is hoped that a similar solution can be found for Portavolla.
