Westmeath County Council Budget 2025 Won't Include Increased 3% Business Rates

The motion was put forward but council members rejected.

A proposed 3% increase in business rates in Westmeath over the next five years won't go ahead in next year's County Council Budget.

The council had put forward the motion at a draft budget meeting - which councillors have now rejected.

€117.6m is the council's total budget for 2025, a 9% increase from last year.

A number of capital projects have been allocated funding - including €400,000 towards the Mullingar Regional Sports Complex.
