The heritage office in Westmeath is inviting the public to contribute to a historical database about the development of the county.
Just under 5,000 industrial sites such as the Mullingar tobacco factory have been identified as contributors to the social, economic , technical and architectural growth to the region.
Heritage officer Melanie McQuade is looking to speak to anyone who may have been involved in one of the industries or locations in question, which are available on the local authority website.
