Westmeath PhD Student Named Winner Of University Of Galway Competition

She will now go forward to the national finals.

A Westmeath student has been named as the winner of University of Galway's Threesis competition for her research into AI.

Louise McCormack, from Moate, is a PhD student developing a tool to determine the trustworthiness of AI.

She will now be put forward as one of 8 finalists at national level.

As part of the competition, she had to condense her research into three slides and a talk lasting only three minutes.

The aim of Ms McCormack's research is to create a future where the use of AI is ethical, but still powerful.
