Westmeath Senator Calls For Community Centers To Purchase Generators

It comes following recent storms.

A Westmeath senator says funding for community centers to purchase electricity generators will be a lifeline in future severe weather events

Senator Paul Daly is putting pressure in the Seanad on the Minister for Rural and Community Development to make a statement on the matter.

It follows Storm Eowyn in which community centers were used as a hub by many people who were without electricity and water for days afterwards.
