The 2nd year student at Mercy Secondary School, Kilbeggan, says illegal littering is a huge problem in rural Ireland and that people tend to use back roads to discard their rubbish.
Figures from Westmeath County Council's Litter Management Plan show that cigarettes are the biggest issue in the county. they account for 65% percent of the overall litter.
