It follows the publishing of a survey which found women in the town feel less safe as a result of poor lighting.
A petition has been launched aimed at improving the lighting in an Offaly town.
It follows a recent survey which found seven in ten women in Tullamore and Clara feel less safe as a result of a lack of lighting on the streets.
60% of respondents also said they refused to walk on their own as a result.
Offaly County Council is being urged to consider the quantity, quality and location of lighting across Tullamore.
The petition has received over 150 signatures so far, with a target of 200 set.
It was launched by Sinn Féin Councillor, Aoife Masterson, who says the lighting across Tullamore LEA is not fit for purpose.
