Works Continuing On Westmeath Water Mains

They're expected to be finished in January.

Improvements to water mains in Westmeath are continuing today.

Irish Water is carrying out works in Ballynacarrigy to improve the security of supply and reduce high levels of leakage.

They involve replacing about 1400m of old water mains along the R393 road with new plastic piping.

The utility is warning there may be some short-term water shut offs, although a minimum of 48 hours notice will be given for any planned outages.

The works are expected to be completed by January.
