That's according to a 36 year old woman who has spent nearly a decade in a nursing home.
Young people are being "cut off from society" when placed in nursing homes after being injured or suffering illness.
That's according to Geraldine Lavelle, who was paralysed after a collision near Mullingar in 2013.
She is moving into independent living accommodation this summer, after spending nearly a decade in a nursing home.
