Athlone Town remain top of the Women's Premier Division after an emphatic victory over Cork City over the weekend.

Ciaran Kilduff's side were 4-0 winners in Lissywollen on Saturday despite reaching the break scoreless against the Munster side.

The Cork rearguard was eventually broken by Brenda Ebike Tabe.

The Cameroon attacker caught Una Foyle off guard with a snap shot from distance to put Town in the lead after 47 minutes.

Maddie Gibson followed with a quickfire double, before Shauna Brennan chipped Foyle from 25 yards out.

That result leaves the midlanders top of the standings by two points with a game in hand.
