They did so in dramatic fashion too.
Athlone Town are off the mark at the seventh time of asking following a dramatic 4-3 win over Galway WFC.
They've had a couple of close calls during excellent performances in recent weeks and will be a welcome boost for manager Tommy Hewitt.
The midlanders had to come from a goal down initially after Galway took the lead through Abbie Callanan.
This sprung Athlone to life and they went on to hit three without reply courtesy of Kaitlin Keogh, Muireann Devaney and Kellie Brennan.
