Athlone remain in search of a first win of 2021.
Athlone Town will go to the well again later this evening in search of their first win in the Women's National League this season.
Tommy Hewitt's side have picked up two draws so far and welcome South Dublin outfit DLR Waves to Lissywoolen for a 7pm kick-off.
Waves are riding high in fourth place on ten points, eight ahead of their opponents.
The black and blue have given creditable performances in all their fixtures so far this season, picking up their points against Teaty United and Cork City both of which were at home.
There's been narrow defeats against cup holders Wexford , Shelbourne and before last weekend's heavy defeat to the all conquering Peamount.
They won't be the last side to have Peamount rack up a couple of goals against them but this week again represents a realistic chance of putting more points on the board.
Assistant boss Anto Fay spoke to Athlone Ladies Social Media team and was encouraged by the performance despite the result:
There's been a particular buzz about midfielder Muireann Devaney who has been part of a Ireland home based training squad under Vera Pauw recently but there's more than enough talent dotted throughout the squad to see them come away with at least a point in this one.
