St. Patrick's Athletic defeated Bohemians after extra-time.
St Patrick's Athletic are the Extra.ie FAI Cup champions for the first time since 2014.
The Inchicore based side triumphed after spot-kicks in a Dublin derby with Bohemians at the Aviva Stadium, in front of a record crowd of over 37,000.
It was the 9th time since 2010 that an FAI Cup final needed extra-time to separate the teams.
In a game where chances were at a premium, it was a piece of individual magic from Pat's midfielder Chris Forrester and a well worked corner from Bohemians either side of half-time in extra-time that sent the game to a shootout.
Jason McClelland, Billy King and Ronan Coughlan converted to leave former Athlone Town man Robbie Benson with the chance to seal the deal.
The former Marist College student duly obliged in casual fashion.

Club captain Ian Bermingham said it was a brilliant moment:
It completes the haul of domestic trophies in Benson's cabinet, having previously collected league titles, a president's cup and a champions cup with Dundalk.
🏆🏆Massive congrats to Athlone GAA man Robbie Benson and all the Benson family on @stpatsfc winning the @faireland Cup Final.🏆🏆
