Tim McCarthy has just been inducted to the Basketball Ireland Hall of Fame
A Basketball Hall of Famer will be using a lifelong philosophy as he re-engages in a battle with cancer.
Tim McCarthy was inducted into Basketball Ireland's Hall of Fame over the weekend for his achievements in the sport.
McCarthy was joined by Karen Hennessy, Mary Baneham, and Lennie McMillian in being inducted.
A National League and Cup winner, he found success as a coach and transcended the sport to become a national figure as RTE's lead commentator for Basketball at multiple Olympic Games.
The former Irish International captain received a diagnosis of prostate cancer in 2018, and recovered following 18 months of treatment.
Eight weeks ago, Kiltoom's McCarthy discovered his cancer returned.
He says he plans to work and live through his treatment as he did the first time:
