Dowdall Leads Westmeath To First Championship Win

The Clonkill woman hit 1-10 as the Lake County beat Wexford.

Westmeath recovered from an All Ireland opening day loss to claim their first win of the intermediate camogie championship on Saturday.

The Lake County ran out 1-16 to 2-8 winners over this year's Leinster Intermediate champions, Wexford.

Megan Dowdall made a decisive contribution to Westmeath's win with 1-10.

Elsewhere in the intermediate grade, Offaly were beaten by Cork on a final scoreline of 1-11 to 0-15.
