The 2022 Leinster finalists won their place in this year's county final by the narrowest possible margin.

The Downs manager is underlining his delight at being able to represent his club as they return to the Westmeath Senior Football Championship final in two weeks.

Johnny Murray's side ran out 1-8 to 10 point winners against Coralstown-Kinnegad in TEG Cusack Park on Saturday.

The Downs trailed last year's beaten finalists heading towards half time, only to go in at the break a point to the good after Ian Martin finished off a counter attack that started with The Downs crossbar preventing a Coralstown Kinnegad goal.
