
The Offaly senior hurling manager is looking to develop a panel to compete at division one level.
"It's about improving through the league. . and competing well".
That's Offaly senior hurling manager Johnny Kelly's stated ambition heading in to the first half of the intercounty season.
However the Galway man did underline the Faithful County's focus will be on the Joe McDonagh Cup later in the year.
Kelly's side begin their year against Laois in the first round of the Walsh Cup this evening.
Offaly were 2-21 to 1-23 winners when the sides met in the competition last January.
Kelly caught up with Midlands 103's David Hollywood ahead of their opening game, he starts by outlining his thinking on squad selection for this evening's game:
