Laois suffered a heavy defeat last night at the hands of Longford in their O'Byrne Cup opener.
Longford were the better side from the whistle, racing into a seven points to nil lead in Portarlington.
Billy Sheehan's side got their first score through Clonaslee's Niall Corbet.
Colm Murphy, Damon Larkin, Lee Walker and Corbet added further scores for the O'Moore county, but the concession of three goals made the ultimate result inevitable.
