Nicole Turner will be hoping to compete for a medal in Tuesday's 50m butterfly race.

Portarlington's Nicole Turner will have to wait until Tuesday to potentially claim a second paralympic medal after coming home in sixth in her 50m Freestyle S-6 final yesterday evening.

The Tokyo silver medalist expressed disappointment with her race at the La Defence Arena where Yuyan Jiang of China set a new Paralympic record of 32.59.

Silver went to American Ellie Marks who broke the Americas record with a 32.90.

While the current world record holder Anna Hontar claimed bronze in 33.01.

Turner came home in a time of 35.65.

The 22 year old will be back in the pool on Tuesday morning for the 50m Butterfly S6 heats at 9.12am, with the final set to take place that evening at 5.07pm.

Turner's Tokyo medal came in the '50m Fly' with Jiang claiming gold three years ago.
