Wesmeath Ladies Beat Monaghan To Stay In Division 2

Two first half goals helped them on their way.

Westmeath Ladies have secured their place in the National football league Division Two for next season after beating Monaghan 2-11 to 13 points in Ballynacargy yesterday.

Frank Browne's side found themselves in a precarious position after losing five of their opening league games, but this win along with their victory over Roscommon in the previous week was enough for the Lake County.

The Rossies along with Clare go staright back to Division Three while Galway and Cork have bounced straight back to Division One.

Westmeath are back out in the Leinster Championship on May 4th in Cusack Park when they welcome.
