Westmeath To Meet Derry In Down

Westmeath's crunch meeting with Derry in the All Ireland Football Championship has been fixed for Saturday week in Down.

Pairc Esler will play host to the two sides fighting for their place in the knockout phase of the Sam Maguire series.

Dessie Dolan's side were comfortably beaten by Armagh before testing Galway until the closing stages of their conest on Sunday.

Division One league champions Derry have endured a disasterous run since losing their Ulster championship crown against Donegal.

Mickey Harte's side have lost to Armagh and Galway by a combined 16 points.

The game throws in at 7pm on Saturday evening.
