Road Traffic Accidents
Being injured in a road traffic accident as a result of someone else’s carelessness, negligence or reckless actions can result in serious injury. The most common types of road traffic accidents are as follows:-
-
Rear End Accidents. Commonly caused when the vehicle following is travelling too close to the vehicle in front and is unable to stop in a timely manner if the vehicle in front stops or slows down.
-
Head on Collisions. Can result in serious injuries or fatalities as a result of the potential speed at which each vehicle is travelling when the collision occurs. Head on collisions can occur when a negligent driver veers onto the incorrect side of the road and collides with another vehicle.
-
Vehicles entering a major road from a minor road. These accidents most commonly occur when a vehicle fails to yield the right of way to another vehicle and can be particularly dangerous for occupants sitting on the side of the struck vehicle and can cause significant injuries.
-
Multiple vehicle collisions. Chain reaction crashes following a two vehicle crash when either the collision causes one of the vehicles to crash into a third vehicle or alternatively, many vehicles coming upon the accident from behind can be involved in what is commonly known as a pile up.
