Ann Dillion says communities have really stepped up in the wake of the storm and community centres have been opened to offer people power to charge phones etc.
An Garda Síochána, Portlaoise and the Laois county council, local coordination group are engaging with the community following storm Éowyn.
Also, Gardai in the midlands are warning homeowners about bogus callers.
