One hundred years ago, a civil war began. Its legacy endures to this day. A new documentary, ‘Wreckage and Ruin: scenes from a civil war’, tells four remarkable stories, each of which focusses on the Irish Midlands during a time of brutality and hatred, a time when families were divided, friendships were broken and a country was left on the verge of ruin.
This documentary is funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media in partnership with Westmeath County Council.
