As the rain fell Laois fans turned up to welcome their All Ireland Champions home.
The Laois ladies footballers were cheered home in Portlaoise by a large crowd after they were crowned Intermediate Football Champions in Croke Park on Sunday.
Laois had a strong 1-9 to 0-3 lead at half time after a sequence of points by Mo Nerney and Erone Fitzpatrick.
Wexford fought back in the second half and it took heroic saves and blocks by Eimear Barry, Clodagh Dunne, and Jane Moore to secure the Mary Quinn Memorial Cup for the midlands county.
